The huge importance of bees in our neighborhoods
Beekeepers have just celebrated World Bee Day, an annual occasion dedicated to raising awareness about the vital role these extraordinary creatures and other pollinators play.
In that spirit, 103.1 Beach Radio's Big Ginger, buzzed over to Arlo's Honey Farm to discover first-hand what these winged wonders are so crucial.
“Bees are so critical to our food system and agriculture. They're critical pollinators. And about a third of the food we find on our plate is pollinated by honeybees,” Lisa St. Laurent said.
Her business offers 100 per cent pure, unpasteurized honey which is loaded with vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and antioxidants
Check out the video to find out how Big Ginger handled being surrounded by the intense buzzing in an up-close experience.
