Get ready for more Karate Kids: sport flourishing in Kelowna

Mental and physical growth

With another Karate Kid movie out, we can expect to see a new wave of youngsters flocking to their local martial arts studio.

For Quest Martial Arts Kelowna owner and Chief Instructor Chris Rowe, there has always been a broad and healthy following of the sport but he agreed the latest Hollywood offering is bound to bring in even more interest.

Two Taekwondo athletes at the studio, Mackenzie Friesen - who is also a 3rd degree black belt and instructor, as well as Colby Conn- a red belt with black stripe, will be competing at the Taekwondo World Championships in Scotland later this month.

Check out the video for a flavour of what this sport is all about.
