Get rare snacks 24/7 at this new downtown shop

It can be tough to find a late-night spot for snacks in Kelowna - but no more.

Enter 24 Hour Snacks, offering just that - a unique blend of international treats at any time of day, any day of the week.

Owners Naz and Jesse Lal, formerly of Hertz Car Rental, had been spurred on to open the location due to a need for a career change.

“Car rental business, I did it for a long time, my wife and I, and it got hectic at one point,” Jesse told Kelowna10. “We just wanted to do something fun. And you know what a better way to have fun than candy.”

Lal said his inspiration to open the business came from his young daughter, who he said is a “candy freak”.

The store shelves are stocked with colourful displays of unique confections from around the world.

“We've got seven different flavours of KitKat, eight different flavours of Reese's Pieces, with nuts, without nuts, chips, everything that you can think of, any kind of chocolate,” he said.

The location will be open 24 hours a day, though Lal said due to Kelowna’s hectic nature, they will also be offering their goods through popular food delivery apps when the store isn’t open for walk in customers.

He expects the stock of confections to only grow over time, with the right customer input, of course.

“We're trying to bring more and more in,” he explained. “We're also taking customers’ input and what they want to see. The more we see of that, the more stuff we can bring in.”
