Free car washes for frontline workers

Frontline workers given free car washes.

  • A way to say thanks for their hard work
  • ID must be shown inside the store

Skogies has offered free car washes to some important members of the community.

Healthcare workers, firefighters, and other first responders were thanked for their service by the car wash that’s been in the Okanagan since 1971.

“The reason we want to honour them specifically is because the last year, the last two years, have been rough on the whole planet and without these people we wouldn’t have been able to get as far as we’ve gotten,” Skogies Auto Spa Wash Manager Alexander Gonzalez told Kelowna 10. “This is the least we could do to appreciate the first responders.”

The promotion was for a free basic car wash at all Skogies locations in Kelowna and Vernon. The basic package includes a pre-soak, exterior wash, and a spot-free rinse. Customers had to show their ID to confirm they were a frontline worker.

We spoke with numerous healthcare workers who took advantage of the offer, although they did not want to be on camera. They were all very appreciative of the gesture.
