Redevelopment
Residents in the Mission area will notice some major changes soon to a famous media landmark.
The former offices and studios for radio stations Beach Radio, The LIZARD and OV1039, are to be turned into a six-storey mixed use development. The existing single storey building was home to the radio stations for decades.
The site at the corner of Lakeshore Rd. and Cook Rd. will have 103 residential units and four commercial spaces. It will also have a rooftop swimming pool.
The residences will be made of 67 one-bedroom, 31 two-bedroom and five three-bedroom units. There will be 117 parking stalls.
City Council approved the development permit citing the good design and enhancements coming for the wetland/riparian area that makes up a large portion of the property. There will be no construction on this environmentally sensitive portion.
Check out the video to see the new design.
