Find out what Scotty Berg’s latest single is all about

The Kelowna teenager dives into some deep themes

Kelowna’s own Scotty Berg has already done some pretty big things in his young career, including working with top producers in Nashville. Now, he’s come out with his first music video.

His latest song, released for Valentine's Day, “You Don’t Have to be Alone,” is the final piece produced in the U.S. during his time there recently. The other songs were “No Time to Waste” and “Friends.”

“It’s about anti-bullying, suicide prevention and if you’re struggling or know a friend who’s struggling, just know there’s someone to lean on,” Berg told Kelowna10.

The accompanying music video will be Berg’s first. It was filmed in downtown Kelowna and over at Priest Creek Winery.

“We did a rock chucking scene at a house, and then we went down to Abbott St., filmed some stuff there, and then we went to Bernard Ave. Just the feeling of filming your first music video was pretty cool,” he said.

Scotty is clearly comfortable with a microphone and recording studio, but being on camera is something new, and out of his wheelhouse.

“Probably the acting and looking at the camera. I’m not really a good actor,” he said jokingly.

Scotty will be headed down to Austin, Texas to perform at the South by Southwest Festival on March 16th.

He was recently on 103.1 Beach Radio and his interview can be found here.

To date, Scotty’s songs now have almost 270,000 combined streams on Spotify.

His new single and all his music is available on all major music streaming platforms and on his website.
