‘Elvis’ is in the house with Kelowna Actors Studio

Elvis is in the building!

Get ready Kelowna, because the 'King' is on his way!

Darren Lee, hailed as the #1 Elvis tribute artist is bringing his show "Burning Love" to Kelowna Actors Studio.

His transformation into the King is no easy task.

"I have to be available for three hours to commit to getting ready, go and have a shower, start doing my hair, makeup and clothes. And that's the hardest part," Lee told Kelowna10. "Doing a show is second nature. And that second nature is just basic: give me the microphone, turn the music on, and I'm on."

Despite embodying the spirit of Elvis on stage, Lee maintains a grounded perspective.

“I never believe that I'm Elvis Presley. There are too many guys out there that do think they're Elvis and I don't," he explained. "When I get applause, or when I get comments, it tells me that I'm doing a good job and I have to keep on going. But then when you get a crowd that gives you a standing ovation or anything like that, that's phenomenal.”

Catch the performances at Kelowna Actors Studio, April 26-28.

Appies and drinks are from 6 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30 p.m.
