Community Airtime Award

$60,000 advertising grant given to PLAN Okanagan

  • Community Airtime Award is granted semi-annually
  • PLAN Okanagan will use money to spread the word

A Kelowna based non-profit is set to tell a lot more people about what they do in the community.

PLAN Okanagan has been granted the Community Airtime Award from Pattison Media’s Beach Radio and 104.7 The Lizard, along with their community minded sponsors Dominos Pizza and Kelowna Dental Centre.

The award is granted semi-annually to a non-profit group or charitable organization and offers $60,000 in advertising to be used over a six-month period.

“PLAN Okanagan helps plan and secure bright futures for people with diversabilities,” PLAN Okanagan board member Lyndsay Parrott told Kelowna10.

“We’re going to be able to get the word out on who we are and what we do. We are going to hopefully reach a lot more people and be able to help a lot more people within the community.”

Parrott added they look forward to connecting with new members of the community.

“Non-profit groups are some of the hardest working people in the world - and unfortunately most groups don’t have the funding to ‘get the word out’, or to launch a fundraising campaign as almost all funds go to operating costs” said Bryan Ford, General Sales Manager of Pattison Media’s Okanagan Division.

“They are just like most other businesses… they have goals and aspirations for their organization, and our hope is that the Community Airtime Award will help these organizations take things to the next level”.

Beach Radio and 104.7 The Lizard encourages non-profit groups and charitable organizations throughout the Okanagan to apply for the Community Airtime Award online at Beachradiokelowna.ca & 1047thelizard.ca
