Check out this new plant-based Kelowna deli

It's a first for Kelowna

Kelowna's culinary scene has reached new heights of innovation and sustainability with the opening of New Course Cuisine Deli Plus.

It offers a diverse selection from sandwiches, salads, cheeses, along with frozen pizza and ready meals, all of which are plant-based.

“We wanted to bring Kelowna’s only plant-based deli here and to use plant-based ingredients without any chemicals or without any of those other fillers that might be in it,” Mike Huget, President and COO told Sarah Nick from 104.7 The LIZARD. “Wholesome ingredients that would be found in an intermediate cook's kitchen.”

Recognizing the concerns around some meat alternatives containing excessive fillers, Huget emphasized the meticulous process undertaken to maintain the highest quality standards.

“We go through a culinary panel, including a certified master chef from North America and a couple of our chefs that actually review our products to make sure that we're not serving those,” he said.

“Those fake meats aren't really good for us anyways. All our products have flour bases and seasonings.”

New Course Cuisine Deli Plus is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
