Long-planned lakeshore amenity is taking shape
While it’s not possible for the public to get access to the exciting work on the new Pandosy Waterfront Park, a local drone pilot has been able to film the progress.
Marlon Bartram with Brio Drone took these stunning shots.
They give an amazing overview of what the second phase of the park will look like once it opens in late May/early June.
The project has been discussed for decades but work on the latest work finally got underway last year after the city secured provincial and federal funding.
The focal point of the latest efforts is the wooden pier, promenade, and pathways. These are to be added to an urban beach area, misting zone, waterfront green space and picnic area and basketball hoops among other amenities.
The city said some lighting and landscaping elements are still needed before the opening in the months to come.
The longer term aim is to make the park the premier location for paddle sports access in the city.
