Crack open some colour!
Leslie from OV 103.9 is showing off a creative method for decorating Easter eggs using common household ingredients — and it comes with a colourful, fizzy twist.
To start, mix one tablespoon of baking soda with one teaspoon of water at a time, until the mixture reaches a thick, paint-like consistency. Add two to three drops of food colouring to create the “paint.” The thicker the consistency, the better.
Apply the paint directly to the eggs. Then, slowly drizzle vinegar over the surface.
When the vinegar hits the baking soda, a fizzy chemical reaction occurs, producing a marbled effect as the colours swirl and bubble. Once the reaction stops, rinse the eggs with water and pat dry with a paper towel.
Watch to see how this method turned out for Leslie and give it a try for yourself.
