Buying or selling a home? Here's how and when a lawyer can help

Timing is everything in real estate

In the buzzing world of real estate, timing is everything.

And when it comes to navigating the twists and turns of buying or selling property, having the right legal ally can make all the difference.

For those looking to sell their property, Kirndeep Nahal, from Lake City Law, said a lawyer typically jumps into action once the subjects are removed or when the deal is as solid as a rock.

But what about eager buyers?

Here's where it gets interesting. Nahal recommends reaching out to a lawyer even before removing those subjects.

Why? A lawyer will want to review the title, work closely with you and your real estate agents, and make sure the property you're eyeing fits your needs.

Then, the file will make its way to a team of conveyancers. They will craft all the necessary documents with surgical precision.

Once the document prep is done, the team contacts the client within the five business days of the transaction closing in order to have the clients come in and sign the paperwork with a lawyer.

So, if you're ready to embark on your own property adventure, don't hesitate to reach out to Lake City Law. To learn more, visit lakecitylaw.ca.
