bludnymph talks Chainsmokers, Taco Bell, and a Bieber friend

It’s been a wild ride for Kelowna TikTok sensation bludnymph.

The burgeoning pop talent has quickly launched from making tracks in her bedroom, to music credits on feature films, and now massive international restaurant chains, and Top 40 electronic DJs have tapped her talent.

bludnymph dropped a track with The Chainsmokers in early June, where she channels her inner saboteur in ‘Self Destruction Mode.’

In March, Taco Bell used the vocalist’s track ‘FEAST’ for a commercial campaign.

Below is a condensed interview between Ara, from 103.1 Beach Radio, and bludnymph:

Ara: From making music in your bedroom, to being on a song with the Chainsmokers. Take us through this?

bludnymph: It has been wild. But it’s basically just really good timing, and luck and hopefully a little bit of talent.

A: A little bit? They have taken one of your songs and used it for a Taco Bell commercial?

b: That is true! They gave me so many Taco Bell gift cards. It was great. I was handing them out everywhere! I’m sorry I didn’t bring one for you – though I might actually still have one kicking around in my purse.

A: Wha do your folks and relatives think about all this success?

b: Everyone is very excited. Even my uncle would randomly text me, like, ‘I saw your Taco Ball commercial on T.V.’ Getting messages from my family and friends like that makes me feel really special and it is exciting seeing them.

A: Are you getting any sleep right now with all this?

b: No. No sleep. I’m just making music every day and making content everyday and of course a little bit of partying in there because, well, you have to do it.

A: Do you ever go back to when it was just you and say five friends listening to your songs and think to yourself, ‘I am doing this for me and them’?

b: It takes me back, looking back on it, and all the things I was hoping I would achieve, and it makes me feel like I am doing what I am supposed to do. I always felt like I had to. And I did. And it makes me very happy it is working out for me. I am very grateful.

A: I heard a rumor that you are working with someone Justin Bieber knows quite well?

b: Yeah. I made friends with blackbear, Mat, my homie now. We did a session together, and made a sick song, hopefully it will come out. But if not, we have more sessions lined up. And also, I just want to hang out with him and he is down to go bowling some times. I can’t wait for that.

A: Advice to kids like you in their room, juts doing it and putting stuff out there.

b: Post as much as you can. Create as much as you can. If you are not posting it then how are people going to find you? Basically, create because you love it. Anytime you are passionate about something I think there is a reason why.
