Ryan's Riffs: The history behind The Beatles newest track

The Fab Four have their swan song

The Beatles have unveiled what is believed to be their final song ever.

And it isn't a newly composed piece, but rather, a track decades in the making.

The origins of this song trace back to 1977 when John Lennon casually put together a simple demo on a tape recorder in his apartment.

It was quintessential Lennon.

Fast forward to 1995, George Harrison added his unique touch to this unfinished composition with some guitar work.

And now, after nearly half a century since its inception, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have given this musical piece its final form.

It's fascinating to consider how this song, spanning the course of 50 years, encapsulates the enduring spirit of The Beatles.
